Martine Gauthier Brings France to Harlem

Long time Harlem resident, Martine Gauthier, takes filmmaker Thomas Allen Harris on a journey to Northeastern France as she tells the story of her family history during the Digital Diaspora Family Reunion (DDFR) Harlem Stage Roadshow.

Ms. Gauthier’s family photo narrative begins with her great great grandparents and then chronicles 20th century Europe from World War II to her growing up in France in the 1950s. Ms. Gauthier’s goal is to share these fascinating stories with the rest of her family as well as find out missing information on older photographs that other relatives might be able to help her with. Ms. Gauthier explains, “My younger brothers are not going to know who it is, so I would love to explain to them”. Like many families across the nation, Ms. Gauthier has begun her endeavor to document and share the history of her family at a DDFR Roadshow. Learn more at www.DDFR.tv.
